We are very close to completing post production on our feature film, of which I will claim Co-Director credit on with two other ladies. We are currently putting together our marketing tools and plan for self-distribution. More to come soon...
The feature is titled Love 10 to 1, and is a romantic comedy told in three vignettes that explores the highs and lows of dating in Los Angeles. It seems in Los Angeles, the odds of finding "the one" are higher than 10 to 1.
What makes this particular film a great challenge is that it boasts three writer/directors creating three seperate films with the ultimate goal of becoming one feature. An even bolder move on our part: weaving the lives of the same characters throughout each piece. But in each film the point of view shifts.
My particular segment is titled Diving Lessons. I got my inspiration from Godard's Breathless, specifically the sequence in which Michel and Patricia "hide" in her apartment. The scene lingers for about 25 minutes, and the chemistry between the two of them is so very genuine that it holds the viewer's attention without a single need for an explosion or a gunfire. I think that it exemplifies our basic need for human connection.
Like Michel's character, the male character from Diving Lessons is your typical dog. You'll see him in the other two films breaking hearts left and right without a second thought. But by the time we come to HIS story, my hope is that you'll find yourself caring about him and his own search for a happy ending.

Project Status:
This is a very special project, one that I've been living with for many years. It's that intimate, personal piece that every director has in their repitoire. I've been lucky to have been part of a writer's group for several years where I feel comfortable enough to really push myself to finish a draft of the script within the next couple of months.
Sketch comedy on the internet: parody, satire and absurdity for the masses. Noblest of human endeavors.
I submitted myself for this group early 2010 and was brought on by their mastermind, Deron Sedy. It's a huge team of super-talented folks representing every side of the craft. For me the goal of joining forces with Brevity was to continue working my comedy chops and meet a whole new group of ambitious people working in the Biz. I've already directed two sketches for them and I have to say that I seriously love this group's passion and talent.
A web series for the slacker in all of us, THE WORLD OF CORY AND SID follows the lives of two best friends, sharing an apartment and struggling to pay the rent. Somewhat an odd couple, Sid (Pearce Akpata) and Cory (David Sharp) are both strangers in a strange land…a world where they’re considered adults. Created by Caryn K. Hayes and produced by Hardly Working Entertainment, Cory & Sid premiered in April 2009 on Koldkast.tv, Blip.TV, YouTube and CoryandSid.com.
I loved directing this webseries...we had such a blast! The cast and crew were phenomenally fun.
Below is Speed Brownie, one of my favorite episodes...the director's cut that can't be found anywhere but on this site:
